Bowen Therapy

untitled.bmpBowen Technique is a gentle hands-on-bodywork therapy, which involves a sequence of light, safe, non-invasive, yet dynamic moves on specific areas of connective tissue (muscle, tendon or nerve plexus) with frequent pauses and can be done on anyone from newborn infants to frailcare elderly.

This technique is believed to flow in harmony with the subtle  energies of the body and sets up vibrational energy patterns with specific frequencies which affect particular parts of the body. It addresses the body as a whole unit and encourages an integrated response by balancing and re-aligning the body on all levels of the physical, chemical, emotional and mental aspects.

Shereen Davids is the course trainer; Shreen initially trained as a nursing sister and midwife and has been actively involved in complementary health and its associated education for a number of years. She has formulated and taught courses in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology since 1994. She is the co-author of a Pathology reference book ("A Blend of Pathology and Complementary Therapies") which is currently utilised by our students. Shereen is also a trained Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist with her main practice being Bowen Technique Therapy.

The Bowen Technique course covers the practical therapy and principles of the technique and gives the therapist a through grounding in all aspects of Bowen therapy application.

The course is broken down into six modules of contact teaching time, with a requirement for the student to undertake a series of case studies between modules.

The courses are all practical based and allow plenty of time for demonstration, practice, discussion and questions and answer sessions.
